City Zoo Sanctuary
Since 1963, this small unique California zoo has been providing sanctuary to some very special animals. All are non-releasable. Many were raised, and rejected, as wild pets. Others were injured or orphaned in the wild. Most are native to North America. All have names and personalities, and their individual stories are posted at the exhibits, along with factual, up-to-date information about their species.
Location: The zoo is located in Folsom City Park at Natoma and Stafford Streets. For directions, call (916) 351-3527.
Hours: Tuesday through Sunday and most holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (We’re closed Monday, which is an animal rest day, unless it’s a major holiday).
Gift Shop: Tuesday through Friday 11am - 2pm Saturday and Sundays 11am - 3pm
Cost: Ages 13 and up are $3.00. Admission for ages 5 through 12 is $2.00. Children 4 and younger are free.
